San Francisco: City of Barbers

Hey everyone, sorry I wasn't able to post on Monday! But now that I've found a cute cafe with delicious pastries in downtown San Diego that offers WiFi, I'm ready to rock and roll!

What I looked forward to most during my trip to San Francisco was the idea that I could meet awesome barbers across the country. Most of my work is done over the phone or on the computer for Her Chair His Hair and it was nice to hang out with some really fun people who shared the same love for our industry.

First stop was Peoples Barber & Shop which came highly recommended from locals. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful despite it being crazy busy. I even managed to snag a quick interview with a Lady Barber named Jennifer! Even though there was virtually no time for her to take a break she still managed to hang with me outside their shop on the bench and have a nice chat. I can't wait to share my mini interview with her next week! *wink wink*

My other stop was over at The Barber Lounge, located closer towards Union Square area. Owner, Greg Griffin, gave me a good 45 minutes out of his busy day and we got into all of the details of what he has in mind for the future of his business as well as what he looks for when he happily hires lady barbers. Apparently we're a hot commodity!

Needless to say, it was a great trip and I met so many fantastic barbers and hair stylists who genuinely love what they do. I can't wait to share both articles with you next week on Monday and Thursday at 11 AM EST so definitely check back for them! Also, don't forget to hop on over to RxBarber's second and final installment of her interview. Did you catch the first part? If not, click here.

See you soon!
